I did not read the directions; how hard could it be, right?? My first try using this was with a sweet potato, and it got stuck. I mean seriously STUCK! What I put this little device through trying to get that sweet potato unstuck is alone a testament to its durability!! After my battle was won I looked at the directions which said that, with sweet potatoes, they must first be microwaved for one minute. Then I saw where it even said the exact same thing on the outside of the box. Bless their hearts, they sure tried!! And sure enough, just one minute in the microwave did the trick. I had a big bunch of sweet potato fries in a matter of second.
