I’m looking forward to using this book to teach 5th grade social studies this fall. Kate Messner told an honest story of the history of our US presidents. My students will be captivated by the concept of presidents lives at the time of previous presidents, solidifying the idea that anyone can be president if they meet the three qualifications. My students will also appreciate that #45 appears in this book as a child, but not as an adult, they aren’t interested in books which include #45. Also, The Next President is beautifully illustrated by Adam Rex. This book might not be for everyone. I love this book!
