I was concerned about the size, but I'm able to fit a nice sized lunch AND a snack for a teenager inside and can still zip it easily. There is a little bit of neoprene odor, but it's not too strong and washes out. The bag is well-made with a fat zipper that stands up against being frequently zipped and unzipped when the bag is stuffed. See the pic of everything I fit inside - it included a box holding a sandwich, baby carrots and string cheese; a box holding grapes (both of these boxes have ice packs in the lids); a full-sized water bottle; a small bag of snack chips; and a mixer for the water bottle. I probably could have fit another small item inside if I had the need for it. All in all, I'm very happy with the size and construction of this bag.
