After buying this mattress, I heard about the problems that people are having with fiberglass being inside of memory foam mattresses and being injured by the material. I did some research and looked at the label on the mattress and it says that there is glass fiber in the inner cover of the mattress *see images - 2nd image is an example of glass fiber textile* . What is glass fiber? Glass fiber is a flame resistant material that is used for mattresses. Since it is by law that mattresses must be flame retardant, it is either done by using chemically treated materials or done by using flame resistant textiles like glass fiber. It is a woven material that is sewn into the mattress cover so that the mattress is legally flame resistant. Is is recommended to NEVER remove the inner cover for cleaning. Only spot clean the cover and be careful not to damage it. The glass fiber inside the cover may become harmful if damaged.
