I think these are keepers
My 4yo daughter is starting dance classes and I have no experience purchasing dance shoes. After comparing the Capezio and the Bloch "tyette" tap shoes, which both have elastic across the instep so you needn't worry with the ties, I am keeping the Capezio. They seem true to size in length, but a W is narrower than the M width of her Stride Rite dress shoes. I'd recommend ordering W if your child wears a M width. The Bloch was a pretty shoe but narrower overall with a more pointed toe box. The Capezio has a more rounded, roomier toe box and seems more flexible. The heel of the Capezio has a larger surface area which might make it more stable for little ones. The one downside is that the Capezio elastic is attached on both sides while the Bloch has a snap that can open for easier on/off.
