Confused about whether this product is in softgels or vcaps? I was too, so I called Doctor's Best. Turns out, the 120-count product is vcaps and the 60-count product is softgels - go figure! I was also curious about whether or not the product, which is soy based, is made from GMO or non-GMO soy. Why? In case you don't know, the Monsanto company has patents on just about every seed on the planet and has purchased just about every seed company you have ever heard of. In the case of soy, Monsanto made two genetic modifications - one to make all soy "RoundUp ready" and the other to integrate what is called "Terminator Technology." RoundUp is one of the most potent pesticides ever produced and Monsanto owns it. So they've genetically modified soy so that RoundUp won't kill it - that way farmers can spray their soy crop with RoundUp and it'll kill the weeds but won't kill the soy. Terminator Technology causes the soy to produce sterile seeds. In other words, farmers can no longer raise a crop one year and reseed the next from that first crop - they've got to buy new seeds from Monsanto every year. 100% of the soy in the United States now has these genetic modifications. In fact, the only countries where non-Monsanto-genetically-modified soy can currently be found are Italy and Israel. To make a long story short, that's why I prefer to take a phosphatidylserine product that is manufactured from non-GMO soy. I just don't care to consume RoundUp Ready/Terminator Technology soy if I can avoid it. So I asked Doctor's Best about that as well. Turns out the 120-count vcap product is made from non-GMO soy but the 60-count softgel product is not. Since Doctor's Best doesn't state this on their label (Nature's Way does by the way) I suppose this could change at any time. But for now, the 120-count vcap seems to be the way to go.
