Thanks to a combination of OCD and the pride that comes with owning a clean home, I'm a clean freak. I very much enjoy cleaning my home. Over the years, I've tried and owned many different vacuum cleaners...Dirt Devil, Hoover, Bissell and even a Dyson. Most of those vacuums worked well. But today, I found the most perfect vacuum...EVER! The Shark Rotator Lift-Away Duo Cleaning Pro w/Self Cleaning Brushroll promises to do many things. And it delivers on EVERY. SINGLE. PROMISE! 1. This vacuum IS a powerful vacuum as it claims. In fact, you can change the power setting to full or a lower power with the flip of a lever! The vacuum is an upright vacuum BUT it is also detachable, so you can remove the nozzle and the collection canister and easily vacuum problem areas such as steps, furniture, under furniture or even use it to suck up dust collected on the top of curtain rods or doorframes. The full power level is quite astonishing...you will get to see and hear it suck up everything in its path. 2. The dual brush system is like nothing I've never seen or used before. My former vacuum cleaner did have a brush roller for pet hair and it worked well. But what it didn't do, was rid itself of the fur/hair that wrapped around the brush. So every couple of weeks I'd have to turn the vacuum over, take off the bottom plate to reach the roller and use a knife or scissor to cut away the tangled fur/hair that was wrapped around the brush. (For some reason, I often pulled off/cut off a lot of dental floss that became wrapped around the brush as well!) With the Shark Rotator Lift-Away, there is NO HAIR WRAP!!!!!!!! The fur/hair and even dental floss does NOT stay wrapped around the brush, it removes itself! And BTW , I intentionally put a long piece of dental floss on the ground to test this and it sucked right up and did NOT become wrapped around the brush roll! NONE of the fur/hair that I vacuumed up did either! No more removing the bottom plate and cutting off chunks of tangled items around the brush because this vacuum removes those objects ON ITS OWN!!!!! 3. The vacuum has swivel steering which allows the vacuum to maneuver around objects and move in all different directions . The lift away feature is fantastic. Simply remove the canister and nozzle from the vacuum and get to work vacuuming your furniture and stairs. An extension nozzle allows you to clean hard to reach areas as well. 4. The HEPA filter keeps dust, dirt and allergens inside of the canister where they belong, instead of in your flooring or carpet. 5. The vacuum has a setting (a mere flip of a switch!) for carpet vacuuming or hard floor vacuuming. The vacuum is packaged in a few pieces but takes less than 5 minutes to assemble. (I hate cliches, but if I could put it together on my own, ANYONE can!) No tools required to assemble the vacuum! As soon as I had it assembled, I was off. I vacuumed my home last night with what was, until today, my regular vacuum cleaner. I always thought this vacuum did such a good job. Today, I learned just how 'well' it really works. NO tools needed, you'll have it assembled in minutes! 3. This is what collected after I used the Shark Rotator for the first time in the master bedroom ONLY. That is from ONE room. I vacuumed the same room less than 24 hours earlier with what I always thought was a good vacuum cleaner....it obviously wasn't as wonderful as I thought! 4. This is what was collected after using the Shark lift-away feature and vacuuming a sofa sectional ONE TIME! EVERYTHING about the Shark Rotator Lift-away vacuum is wonderful. Its simple to assemble, the features are like no other vacuum out there (I'm seriously still elated over the the self cleaning brushroll feature! I can't believe I will never have to remove cut out hair/fur/dental floss from the brush of a vacuum cleaner AGAIN!) and it does a beautiful job! If you're a pet owner, this definitely the vacuum cleaner for you! (Though I can honestly say if I didn't own any pets I would STILL use this vacuum cleaner! ) I truly wish I could give this vacuum more than 5 stars! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
