I just installed this printer on my office network. Had a glitch on the initial install process--which we overcame with a workaround. I decided to call HP tech support to try and find out why we had a problem using the standard HP install. I was connected with an overseas 'outsourced' tech person (young man). I allowed him to access my computer (first mistake). He then proceeded to tell me I had a bug--that he could fix for $99.99 for the cleaning of all infection and another $99.99 to replace all infected kernels. The screen shots he showed me (with great drama) substantiated his claims that I was infected. I might have believed him if I had not just had my IT consultant with me. I asked him if these 'fixes' were sold by HP. 'No'---his company developed them. I disconnected the call immediately---and had my office network 'swept' for mischief. I was lucky---but this could have been a disaster. As if this afternoon I have notified corporate HP via email on their corporate website of this experience. Please be careful.
