Necessary but towel roll is cheaper
If you have bulged disks in your neck, you have to do this type of traction. If you want to save money, do what I’ve been doing for about 25 years. Get a long, thin towel, roll it up, fold it in half and tie it together at the ends with something strong. Tie the other end to a doorknob. Lie on the floor on your back, put your head in the circle made by the towel, make sure the bottom of the towel is sitting at the base of your skull, then scoot out from the door and rest your head in the towel. It looks exactly like the pictures of this gadget except that you’re using a towel. See my picture. For those of you asking about where the Neck Hammock should go, you should feel the pull on the base of your skull for both this and the towel roll. Because this does not address curvature, you also want to lie on your back on a bed with your head hanging over the edge a little bit. Your head should be resting firmly on the bed and the edge of the bed should be right on the base of your skull. You just want to feel a little gravitational pull.
