Great book for new moms.
I really enjoyed this book. It came at a time in my life where I needed to hear some encouragement. I just had my second child and spend my days cleaning up spit up, changing diapers, and doing loads and loads of laundry. I was feeling sorry for myself and the first chapter was exactly what I needed to hear. She basically says (trauma notwithstanding) that if you are not happy, it’s your own fault. I have thought a lot about that. Each day I try to do things that make me happy. I have found myself enjoying my maternity leave in new ways and will look back on this as a sweet time with my new little boy. I also appreciate her approach to going after your dreams. Another big take away for me was to not put time limits on our dreams. Her point was they are your dreams, yet you are the only who put a time limit on it. So, if you haven’t achieved what you want by the time you thought you would, don’t give up. Keep at it since you are the only one who put the time limit there in the first place. It has helped me revisit some dreams that I have given up on. These dreams are God-given and would truly make a difference in the world around me. They are a worthy pursuit and I feel encouraged and inspired to go after them again.
