I have a few binoculars from celestron 20x80mm to a nikon 8x42. I bought these because of it lightness and it ability to be an around good traveling binocular. These are inexpensive binoculars, however The fully multi-coated and prisms make these a very good buy. I wanted to be able to use these to few the night sky. The angle of view is about 287 for 1000 which is a limitation and the 12 magnification is slightly difficult to hold steady in a night sky bright star. However these are not deal breakers. Because they are so light they can be held steady. I can barely see Jupiters moon but Andromeda Galaxy can be seen. It does not bring the Milky Way in full brightness but it is good enough to stay amused. The coating makes the colors true and brightness good. I will be traveling to the ocean so the 12 power and lightness will come in handy. These are a great buy. And the 42mm lenses makes it good at dusk.
