We have a chain link fence that goes between the front yard and the back yard; but we wanted something that was a little more private and would screen off the backyard swimming pool that was just on the other side of the fence. This reed/bamboo screen works perfectly, was inexpensive, and easy to install along the outside of the chain link fence. We just used those plastic ties along the fenceline to attach the bamboo and the chain link together. The vines that were growing along the chain link fence are now also happily growing along the bamboo, and once they have completely covered the fence, we should have almost total screening and privacy out in the back yard. We are seniors, and there was just my husband and myself to put the reed screening up, and it was still simple for us to install it. This photo shows how it looked at first. You can see through the screen; but barely, and now that the vines are covering it, it is even more private. We really like this, and will probably add more around the side fences .
