One day, I noticed my 6 year old cat had basically fallen apart... once a fat but pretty cat, he had clumps of hair falling out and was starting to look like a skeleton. I took him to the vet, who told me he had diabetes. We had to start giving him insulin shots twice a day and she wanted him on specialty low carb food. Well.. the food prescribed was like $30 a can. Ouch. We have two other cats, and I could see spending a fortune on this low carb food for three cats because it wasn't like the other two would understand that the food was just for Brownie... Enter Google search. Cats aren't supposed to have carbs. Most dry cat food has carbs. My cats HATE wet food. My wallet hates wet food. I turn to Amazon to help. I read other people's reviews of this CRAVE grain free cat food. I think, what do I have to lose? Brownie is now a normal weight, all his hair has grown back, and he is a happy, purry, soft kitty warm kitty little ball of fur. My other cats? Samesies. But they weren't brought back from the brink of death, so I didn't notice as much in them. Was it the insulin that brought him back? Probably. But did the CRAVE help? Absolutely. What's the point of giving a diabetic cat insulin shots but filling him full of carbs? We continue to buy this food and have been for about a year now. All healthy, well adjusted kitties who don't pee on my carpets anymore.
