My 11 year old pug has had a chronic cough for the last couple years. In the last 6 months, he was diagnosed with a collapsing trachea. About a month ago, he was rapidly declining and the vet put him on cough syrup with codeine, trazodone and prednisone to keep him comfortable. I weaned him off of the cough syrup about two weeks ago because it sent him into heavy panting and anxiety; and he is on a weaning off dose of the prednisone. I started giving him Hound Honey: Trachea Soother Syrup - Natural Herbal Remedy for Symptoms of Collapsed Trachea - 5 fl oz - Tastes Good - Easy to Administer, and Dog Cough Remedy-Hound Honey Syrup (Phlegm-Heat) - for loud, honking coughs - 5 fl oz (when I heard mucus in the cough) and also Pet Wellbeing - Comfort Gold for Dogs - Natural Support for Discomfort in Dogs - 2 oz (59ml) to calm him. He much improved the last two weeks and was able to rest quietly, but still had the heavy cough when he wasn't sleeping. I received the Pet Wellbeing Throat Gold just today and he has had two doses. Absolutely amazing. I definitely see a difference. About 10 minutes after the second dose, he was sitting up watching the television and then he flopped over on his bed a few times and got comfortable without a single cough whereas before he could barely lay on his belly without a coughing fit. After hearing him cough for months, I am very thankful he is getting some comfort and relief <3
