LOVED IT!! Tips for beginners like me:
This wax is beautiful! We used it to seal our wedding invitations. They turned out perfect, despite being skeptical initially based on previous reviews. This is my advice:
- The wax sticks are the full size. A mini glue gun will not work. I bought the Elmers Craft Bond glue gun (fits 0.43 size sticks) and it worked great! Instead of using the prop stand built into the glue gun, I rested mine in a cardboard box with the nozzle facing down. The high temp glue gun made some of the wax get pushed back out the side where the sticks are inserted when it was resting on the stand.
- Place the stamp seal on ice for a few seconds prior to stamping every single time! This is SO important. Dont mess with the cooking spray suggestion or anything else - it doesnt work.
- If using the stamp to seal ribbon around an invite, made sure you place wax paper or something under the ribbon/seal. If not, the wax will seal to the invite. We tried to do this first, but didnt like how it looked.
- We had a custom seal made (0.75”), and I used about 0.75” diameter of melted wax to stamp for each invite. Let the wax disperse for a few seconds before stamping to get the nice edge.
- You do not need to use much pressure when making the seal.
- I was able to stamp 75 invites using 2.5 wax sticks, so I have a lot left over!!
This was my very first time making wax seals so if anyone else is a beginner at this, I hope this review helps you!!
