IN SHORT: the product does the job. Make sure to slowly apply coats. Wear breathing mask or do it outside. I bought 2 cans to treat my sofa. It arrived well packaged. The first time I apply the product, I only used a quarter of one can for the whole sofa. My first test with some water was unsuccessful: the couch absorbed the water right away. I went ahead and apply the coats in long sweeping motions. I ended up using 2 cans for my sofa for a single coat. The water test was completely successful, the water runs off the sofa. The color and feel of my sofa remained unchanged before and after the application of the product. I purchased 2 additional cans for a second coat. When you apply, think as if you're "painting" the fabric, not just spraying air freshener.
