Remember the old aluminum rods for your rod pocket curtains whose ends slid downward onto hooked metal plates screwed into your window woodwork? This is the perfect upgrade...only more sturdy, practical, and sleekly attractive. For the person hanging relatively lightweight curtains who doesn't want or need fancy wood rods with finials. Clever design has the mounting plate and screws hidden at each end by curving them inward, allowing the curtains to be carried to the very edge. I only downgraded them because it's a bit annoying to untwist the screw-in rods from both sides of the mounting plates every time you want to take the curtain off. And because if you don't MOUNT THEM WITH THE ROD ATTACHED, they won't screw into the ends right.
