Nothing hard about slipping the basket out and cleaning it at all, coffee tastes as great as my Keurig does. It does take awhile for the coffee to brew but for $17 i really can't complain. Anyone that is nitpicking had better spend more money or get off their arses and learn how to wash a dish. I returned the black and decker model in this price range and got this instead, I recommend this over that.
