I wanted to respond directly to those that have given this a poor rating. I just purchased this set and love the way it looks, the shape and feel of the handles, and the weight of the pieces. My wife and I are VERY avid cooks and use our cookware and cutlery often and heavily. Years ago we purchased a set of decent Wustoff cutlery, used it and put it in the dishwasher. We were upset with how it had seemingly blemished the knife set. It was the first set of "Nice" knives we ever bought. We promptly returned them. Shortly after we read up on the proper care of good knives and watched an Alton Brown "Good Eats" episode on cutlery selection. We realized that NICE cookware requires extra care and if done correctly will perform at its peak and last you a lifetime. We subsequently kept them sharp, hand washed them and they have been very sturdy and consistent in their look and performance. Buying a good set of cookware, utmost should be judged by the performance of the items above all else. Secondly, the performance and look of these items will depend heavily on how you care for them. Some people may put these in the dish washer, and I would not recommend this. Even if YOU DO hand wash them, copper WILL tarnish, and stainless WILL display spotting. We have used these all week and I was slightly concerned about their appearance. I bought a bottle of Tarnex for the copper portions and Barkeepers friend for the inside of the pan. After several minutes, the tarnished pans LOOKED JUST LIKE NEW. I want people to understand that when you buy something quality you don't just treat it like junk. You take greater care of it. These are no different. If you keep them maintained they will be as beautiful and shiny as new and perform like the day you pulled them out of the box. I love our set and would purchase them again.
