My husband and I are not dainty people. When we got our king size bed I forgot a screw in the center and we found ourselves rolling to the middle of the bed within the first week when the frame bent. We went back to where we got the bed and got a new frame which I more carefully put together. We still ended up in the middle of the bed within a week or two. At that point it was too embarrassing to go back to the store and ask for another frame so we ended up with the box spring and mattress on the floor which I told myself I liked just fine. In the year or more that we were on the floor I bought two more bed frames, neither of which worked out (one because I lost pieces before I got it put together and another because it made the bed so uncomfortable that I took my bed off it after one night). This frame IS sturdy. We've been on it for at least a month and there is no sign of failure. It also doesn't slide around on my wood floor like I thought it would. Additionally, I have yet to stub my toe and have not had that complaint from anybody else in my house--this was my main concern after reading the reviews. Yes, I agree that the legs are right at the corners, but I'm not sure what those other people are doing walking with their feet under the bed.
