Great trays. Disastrious, infuriating packaging.
I would love to give this product five stars because they're really nice trays. They boast some pretty study construction, have an easy-to-clean surface, and have a quirky design that's still tasteful. They have some sort of slick veneer on the top side that keeps food and grime from getting crammed into the pores like raw wooden trays do.
However, the packaging is an absolute war crime. I'm pretty sure this is the only time in my life that packaging has made me legitimately curious whether it would have been more convenient to just build the product from scratch out of raw materials. The manufacturer evidently shrink wrapped the tray itself and then drilled the legs into the underside. The end result is that you have two options: 1.) Use an exacto knife to cut away whatever excess plastic you can around the screws, invariably ending up looking tacky or 2.) completely disassemble the tray to remove the plastic wrap. I have a hard time believing it would be that difficult to place holes in the plastic around where the legs come in contact with the tray.
Once you bypass the biblical transgression that is the plastic wrap, you're challenged with a sticker label on the surface of the tray itself that when removes leaves (you guessed it) a thick mess of glue. Why didn't the label go on the plastic wrap? Who knows.
tl;dr: Great trays. For the love of all that is decent, please fire whoever is wrapping/labeling/packaging these things.
