Did exactly as instructions said on 2011 Xterra. 6 months and battery was not completely flat but close. This is not worth the hassle. for $5.00 more you can get a Schumacher SC1319 1.5A Battery Charger/Maintainer that will not only maintain battery but charge as well. Granted at this AMP rating it takes a while to charge a dead battery (several days) but it does not have the problems of a trickle and that alone is worth the $5.00. In general trickle chargers can damage a battery so always look for one that says Maintainer/Charger so for the extra $5.00 this is probably the best deal for the money.
