Shirts Help Sheep Owner Deliver Lamb
As a person who does a lot of outdoor work, barn chores, etc., I go through a lot of t-shirts. I am loathe to purchase "cheap" clothing because of possible worker mistreatment, but I needed shirts quick, and I did not research these except that they are made in Haiti - at least the kiwi green ones. I can say that they are well made and wash well with no noticeable shrinkage or color fade. They have tags, which usually drive me nuts, but I haven't been bothered by these ones. They work for delivering lambs and goat kids. I was able to successfully assist in three births while wearing these t-shirts, with no undo stress or trauma to the ewe, does, lamb or kids. How great is that? What? A shirt can't possibly be responsible for obstetric skills? Do not step on my magical thinking, it's all that keeps me sane. And yes, I would buy more of these.
12/6/16 - I decided to update this review as I have been putting these shirts through shirt hell since I got them. I ordered another color - jade, I think - and did not like them as well because they are not 100% cotton. Still very nice, but too hot to work in. Amazing what a difference 10% polyester makes in comfort. The good news is the 90%cotton/10%polyester ones wash well and look good. I still much prefer the kiwi green 100% cotton ones. And IMPORTANT note - the tags are made to tear out easily without ruining the stitching.
Another great thing about these shirts - in kiwi green - is that you can blend in with road crews and landscaping workers in many places. If you drive a big white truck, people may even try to hire you to do landscaping. This happened to me. I was almost inspired enough to start a business where I bring my sheep and goats to eat weeds and brush out of right-of-ways and vacant lots. While I didn't start a business, I did a lot of yard work for an out-of-state relative and since I was wearing the kiwi green shirt and have a white truck, everyone thought she had hired someone. This saved me from having to talk to old neighbors and relatives that I really didn't want to see. What a blessing.
