Update: I cannot upload more than 1 video. So I deleted the original and uploaded a newer one. No bear hugging. Since my portafilter is modified, you can see the flow. Update after 3 months of usage: I feel I should clear up some misinformation given on some of the reviews mainly having to bear hug the machine in order to seat the portafilter. Here’s the deal. You don’t need to pull seat it until it is at 6 o’clock. Just insert it and give it a slight turn. Mine is mostly at the 7 o’clock position. I wouldn’t use pre-ground or extremely fresh beans either. Grind as needed. A week old beans work best for me with the grinder. I got 2 day roasted fresh beans from Amazon/Equator coffee and those didn’t work so well. You can see from my 2nd video, it took me 1.5 mins from start to finish. No bear hugging and I got approx a 1:2 ratio. I’m not finicky about it. I’ll post a video of the milk texturing soon. Don’t use the auto milk froth. It’s messy!! Texture it yourself and it’s super easy cleanup after that. Really fast startup. Easy to use and perfect for the countertop without taking over due to its small footprint. Using it with the original portafilter (bottom cut off) and non-pressurized basket bought from Breville direct. Paired with the Sette 270 and Acaia scale.
