I feel unfair to rate this 1 star but I received an empty bag 🤔 just putting it out here so people would aware of it Updated 11/26/18 ZARAN immediately emailed me to offer a free replacement, I received it today n opened it up, this look really high quality. All red, no junks, I also bought another brand Spanish saffron, but it has full stem which including the white part of it, so the look is great, but when I place each container close to nose the Spanish saffron is more aromatic 🤔, smell more fragrant n sweeter smell than Zaran. So I did the water comparison, put 1 stem of each in water , after few 5-10 minutes the Spanish saffron blended out more color, so I thought may be the Zaran too dry? I used toothpicks pinch it to help extract the color, I did the same thing on both n Spanish I've had more color... weird but I bought this for the aromatic n color, so I have to take 2 points off since this doesn't give me the quality I expected. 11/27/18 The same saffron I left over night in the cup with clear plastic wrap. Surprisingly after 1 night the Zaran bled out darker yellow orange color than the other, it may explain the other used dye, n I opened the wrap, the aromatic of Zaran saffron was way better. I really don't understand how, my thought would be , the saffron here went through a really good process of dehydration/drying, so all the colors being compacted down on the strand, as well as the flavor/smell. So I change from 3 stars to 4, until I cook with it and write another review.
