I'm very pleased with this purchase. I have an iMac that does not have an optical drive and I needed to load a number of music CD's to iTunes. Since I seldom need a CD/DVD drive, I really didn't want to spend very much. After some research, I decided on this little unit. It is compact and performs flawlessly. I can definitely recommend it to Mac owners vs the pricier Apple version. Update - cannot understand the review that says it does not work with a Mac. It is totally Plug 'n Play with both my 27" iMac running Yosemite 10.1.1 and with my husband's Mac Mini running the same OS. All we did was take it out of the box, hooked it up, and it was immediately recognized and ready to go. Needs only the USB connection, no other power source. So yes, it does work flawlessly with a Mac as other reviewers have confirmed.
