Excellent Over Time If You Treat It Well
If you follow the instructions, this pan will last and remain wonderfully non-stick. I'm very happy with this product. I purchased two of these (8" and 10") about six months ago. I use the 10” almost every day—sometimes multiple times a day. I forgot to tell my son the rules for using these pans, and he ruined the 8" pan by cooking eggs on high without spraying oil on first. Those two mistakes on one cooking incident hurt the pan permanently. Yes, one mistake can permanently ruin the pan. So I can't stress enough how important it is to follow the instructions. You can't treat it like a stainless steel pan. You must expect that it will take a little more time and effort and care in order for the pan to last and not be flawed. Here are the steps I've followed on the 10" pan to keep it like new: 1. I spray the pan with an oil spray if the food I’m cooking is not oily. I cook a lot of hamburger meat in these pans, and I don't need to spray oil because the meat itself is greasy enough. But for eggs and other things that are not oily, I use Pam or similar. 2. I NEVER turn the burner on to a setting higher than medium on my electric stove. (I don’t know how gas burners affect this pan, or how high you can turn up the burner if using gas stove, but I’d be cautious.) 3. I NEVER use metal in the pan when cooking or cleaning. I even store this pan on top of others so that the metal from the bottom of another pan doesn’t scrape against the cooking surface of this pan. 4. When I am done cooking, I immediately pour some dishwashing liquid in the pan, along with some water, and let it sit for a while. I usually let it sit until I finish eating, and then I clean it up. 5. When I am ready to clean, I use a dish rag only. I never use a scouring pad or anything rough to clean the pan. There is no need to use anything other than a dish rag, especially if the pan has a little while to sit in the soapy water for a while before cleanup. The pan is very easy to clean if treated properly. I use only dishwashing liquid and water. I do not put the pan in the dishwasher. So after I clean the pan by hand, I dry it with a towel and put it away. Today, six months later, it still seems new. No scratches. Still nonstick.
