So I've seen a trend where people ask about direct wire/hard wiring these and the seller says not to or someone answers the question without any clue as to whats being asked. These are 100% able to be hard wired and in fact are just as straight forward as cutting off the cigarette 12v plug and stripping the cable sleeve and running the red and black wires to a separate switch. Be aware however that approx 1 and 1/2 feet from the end of the 12v plug is a control module that controls the Bluetooth, RF remote receiver, mode selection, and the power regulation for the lights themselves. You will need this part intact in order to continue operating these lights. You can always splice extra wire to the part before this module to run it wherever you want your power on/off switch to be but keep in mind due to the design of these lights and the cable lengths of all the led strips your module will have to stay centralized in your dash in order for each strip to reach the four corners of the vehicle (assuming you are installing front and rear driver and passenger floor boards.) Aside from the above these lights are not bad but certainly are not great either. They include the typical get 15$ gift card for your 5 star review so take that for what its worth. The app works decently well and I haven't had much issues with it aside from a noticeable delay but that would be expected for the price. The remote is pretty much worthless, unless if you are directly aiming it 1-2 feet away from it pointing directly at it. The music feature is also terrible just forget it exists! The lights do there own thing when you turn it on and have no semblance of responding to sound let alone dance to it. With all of that said I am using these for what they are in the basic sense led lights. The Bluetooth app lets u pick a color and the brightness and thats what I do. Be aware tho when you turn your vehicle on and these lights power up they power cycle red green and blue at full brightness regardless of what you have the lights set too. This probably wont bother most people but I do not care for the rave on wheels look, I prefer a basic solid color that cannot be seen from outside of the car at night.
