Performance False Advertising... not a happy customer. (update: PNY corrected the mistake)
UPDATE: PNY has reached out and fixed the false advertising. Good, but they still do not publish any write speeds on any website including their own, it is only noted in fine print on the back of the packaging. Bumped up to 4 stars for overall price/performance as compared to other cards on the market. Response to commenters that "up to 90" means that 60 is legitimate: "up to" means it's limited by your device speed. It does not imply that there is a quality variance among cards and that you might get a 60, might get a 90, etc.... ORIGINAL REVIEW: Call me old fashion, but i like a product to be true to its specs. Ya know... not misleading or outright false advertising. Unfortunately that's exactly what PNY has done with this card, as well as lied about it. I have been very happily using other PNY cards, and was very excited to try out this new 'Turbo' line. Unfortunately it's going right back, both for the performance, and the lack of either intelligence or ethics (or perhaps both) of the company. This review may sound like nitpicking an otherwise perfectly fine speed, but in my trade: 4k video & high speed photography, write speeds are what matter Have a look at my 3 attached photos, and you'll clearly see what i'm talking about. This card in several places has been advertised to be variations of 90/up to 90mb/sec WRITE speed. I'm well aware of the trickiness of companies advertising read/write speeds, so i contacted them to double check that there wasn't an error/typo. My email apparently was sent from a customer service rep to a tech rep for a response, and the response to my very specific question about write speed: yes, up to 90mb/sec Got the card in the mail, popped it into my usual reader, and the attached photo shows the result: NOT even close to 90mb/sec write speed. I was not pleased, but wanted to be absolutely sure before posting this rather negative review. So, 3 usb3 card readers on two different machines, nearly identical results. Other than that... i recommend the samsung pro, which is what i'm ordering right now, at this time it's only $3 more than the pny, and has a true 80mb/sec write speed. Star breakdown: I took off half a star for the price/performance as compared to the competition, and 1.5 stars off for the false advertising/company nonsense.
