If You're Gonna Bleach, Use Wella.
Wellll. Finally worked up the courage to bleach out my own hair, using this product.. Mixed it up, stood there questioning myself for an extra minute because I have little-to-no expirience outside of boxes, decided to work with the bottom half only, and leave the roots for another day.
I went with a 6% (20 Volume) developer, like many had suggested (after much research). Wella Koleston Perfect 6 Creme because the combination of these two are known for great results by actual professionals. Did the highly recommended ratio of 1:1.5 (Two scoops powder, three equal scoops developer). It was definitely worth spending the extra $40-50 on professional-grade chemicals, I'd say. After letting it process for about 50 mins, I double-washed with TIGI Color Goddess Shampoo & let TIGI Color Goddess Conditioner sit in my hair for a hot minute. I can say my hair is damaged, because that is unavoidable when you do these treatments, but the damage done is, by far, less than any boxes I've used in the past. I'm pleasantly surprised because the longest lengths of my hair have been through two other processes, but somehow it only feels more coarse, still holding onto much desired smoothness & luster.
The lift Wella Blondor has given me was great. If I had actually done my upper half & roots, I know they would have came out pure (perhaps needing a toning of course). Unfortunatly though, I have to give it another round on my tips because of my personal hair history.
Hair History: Box-Dyed Black 1.5 year ago, but allowed to fade out to dark brown/my naturalish color. Used box Medium Blonde about 4 months ago to lighten up a hair like a dumb-dumb and only damaged hair. Currently on one bleach application and going to wait at least a week before I try an all-over application. Will update when I finally get to where I'm going.
