**I'm updating my review, I went ahead and tried a replacement to see if my original was faulty. I can definitely say this heats much better than the first. It's still too hard for my comfort but I think this would be perfect for someone that didn't have shoulder sensitivity. It really is a cool idea. I loved this idea and was excited to use it, but ended up being disappointed. I didn't really feel the "heat" at all, at most it was a little warm but not like a heating pad at all. There really isn't much padding between the massaging "balls/mechanism" and your neck so it hurts a little... they are really hard. It also sits high up on your neck and kind of pushes your head down, it's awkward... you can't really just sit back and enjoy a massage which lounging on the couch. I don't know how the heck you could use it any wear other than your neck, it's not flexible at all and it's kind of loud. I ended up returning it.
