At least try them at this price
I was pretty skeptical to try these. The facility that we use for day care sells them for $30 a bag, so I was happy to find them here at this price just to try them. The dog likes them, and while there's a smell, to me they just smell like vitamins. Have been using them for 3 months on a 3 year old 52lb mix breed (our best guess is boxer shepherd or cattle dog mix) female dog who is VERY leash reactive and very strong. She is very friendly and playful off leash, goes to day care and the dog park and socializes very well, and thinks everyone got up this morning just to let her kiss them. But on leash, seeing another dog creates a tornado of pulling, lunging and jumping which scares everyone/everything that comes near her and is nearly impossible for me to handle because of her strength. As someone else noted in the reviews, the first 3-4 days these seemed to make her more hyper. After the first week, they took hold and made her a completely different dog. She falls into the one a day dosage for weight and I had to play around a bit with that. One whole one in the morning made her a little lethargic and MUCH less playful and fun. A whole one at dinner had worn off by morning when we walk, so wasn't much good. We finally settled on 1/2 at breakfast and 1/2 at dinner. She has become a much calmer dog in all situations. Since she is getting a little older, I thought maybe she was just finally growing up and have tried stopping and/or reducing the dosage twice. She was back to the 'old' leash aggressive behavior within 24 hours. Those 2 tests proved to me that the treats really do make a difference.
