Cuisinart FP-14DCN Elite 2.0 14 cup Food Processor
I ordered the Cuisinart FP14DCN Elite 2.0, 14 cup food processor, two days ago and it was delivered today to my complete joy. Amazon said this Friday it would be delivered and it was delivered today, a day early. That sets the tone.
This processor was well packaged in its Cuisinart box and as I explored the contents I discovered the product was flawless in every way. Not so much as a scratch on the box or any content damage. I read all the instructions provided and watched all the Cuisinart You-Tube videos on their Food Processors.
I read every review and comment about this machine and lots of them were obviously not by purchasers of this particular processor. Many questions popped up about construction, it is Die Cast, not some questionable plastic or other similar material. It is heavy die cast aluminum. It also happens to be the same color name that causes confusion. The work bowls are not flimsy as some reviewers have stated, but rather durable, though not indestructible. I've watched lots of video recipes where people slam the tops down rather hard. That's bound to cause some breakage. I think most of the low reviews were where people thought they were having equipment malfunctions or breakage were more a result of mishandling. It helps when users actually read the instructions and examine how all the parts fit together.
When I turn on this processor and put it to work, it does not move around out of balance or migrate across the counter top. it feels firmly rooted to the counter, causing me to feel very confident in the machine's design and its performance.
The accompanying box that houses this machine's components are those components specifically a part of this machine and there is no extra room for additional components. This machine only comes with the main 14 cup work bowl and the 4 1/2 cup work bowl. Each bowl has its own stainless steel "S" blade. The large bowl has the nonmetal Dough blade. Two cutting discs are provided, a double sided shredding disc and the adjustable slicing disc. The use of the smaller work bowl requires the use of an adapter extension that is also in the "tool box."
I researched every food processor in the 14-16 cup range. I made trips to various stores that carried food processors. I was seriously looking at the Breville and Kitchen Aid because I absolutely love my Kitchen Aid Pro 6 cup stand mixer and had also heard Breville was supposed to be an outstanding food processor. I also have a smaller Cuisinart that is still, after 13 years, a great machine, I have simply decided I need a pastry dough handling machine that works perfect.
Regardless of what reviews on the other machines say, they do not do as well as this particular model.
This machine has a notice on the box that it carries a 20 year guarantee on the motor and three year on the rest, while others are either one or 10 year on the motor. It is not the regular type motor with brushes, hence the quieter and smoother operation. Not to say "quiet" just quieter. Those reviews that claimed the annoying smell when they ran their machine makes me think they were not talking about this machine because it is not designed with motor brushes.
So, I am providing this review because there is so much misinformation in many of the reviews. Again, this is the Cuisinart FP-14DCN Elite Collection 2.0 14 cup Food Processor. This processor is the only one in the 14 cup class rated at 1300 watts of peak power. I purchased this machine at the posted price of 238 dollars including taxes and was not given any price breakst. This is a great machine, consistent with my experience with other Cuisinart machines.
