I am a dermatologist, and I obviously am well versed about the dangers of ultraviolet light and skin cancer. When it comes to tan, we tell patients to buy it in a bottle. I poll my patients on what products they are using as self-tanners, and take mental notes on ones that I genuinely can't tell apart from a real tan. Some of the more popular products, however, are streaky and obviously orange and fake. I've never been one to use a self tanner myself... until this year. I will admit, wearing summer white looks much better when you have a tan, and I had an event to go to. I searched best seller self tanner on Amazon, and this product popped up in my list. The reviews from experienced self tanners were impressive, and the price was right. Admittedly, I missed the part about buying the applicator mitt- it's a must! After this rookie tried a few times, I'm hooked! A few quick hints for rookies like me: exfoliate with a wash cloth before application, use the mitt, apply in circles instead of lines, bend your limbs to apply over joints and go easy, and realize that the product goes on colored but that the color deeps with time. It is a really nice color too. I find it lasts me about 5 days, but I work out 3 to 4 times a week and swim, and that is harder on the color. Nonetheless, the product persists. I've received many complements and inquiries about this product, and now I'm the one sharing this self tanner gem with my patients!
