The Night Blooming Jasmine plant arrived on Jun 3rd, 2015. It arrived exactly as described by Hirt's - about a 7-8 inch plant in a small 4" pot. Not very impressive, but green and healthy. It's now mid-October 2015 and the plant has grown into a humongous, 3 feet high, 2 feet diameter bush with about 500 small, long trumpet-looking flowers (see pic). During the day the 'trumpet' closes and at night, it opens - releasing scent that's AMAZING. My guests are mesmerized by the pleasing, sometimes strong aroma that emits from the Night Blooming Jasmine rarely seen in agricultural zone 7B. My wife nurtured it into the 'Dama (lady)' it became by placing it in a 15 inch pot, full sunlight, morning water and perpetual pruning (a must as it's an invasive plant). We used a tomato cage to control the ever-growing stems. Winter is upon us and we intend to keep the young lady alive. We've moved it indoors and placed it by an upstairs window where it will receive some sunlight and stay warm. The scent can sometimes be overwhelming indoors -- a caution to those planing to do the same. We hope it survives the winter and I'm guessing that it will.
