Reliably detects vehicles, humans
I have this set up about 200' from the house, and it reliably detects vehicles or humans traveling in either direction. I've only had one case so far where it seems to have been triggered by an (unidentified) animal.
Somewhat to my surprise, it has also consistently detected an electric vehicle. Even though the headlights and tail lights are LEDs, they may get warm enough to trigger the sensor, or it may detect warmth from the battery.
Although I found the setup instructions somewhat unclear, I was able to pair the sensor with the receiver and select an alert sound. Mounting the sensor outside was straightforward, but instead of using the screws and anchors included, I decided to enlarge the mounting holes slightly and use 1.5" long Torx head deck screws.
Things I liked:
1. A small Phillips screwdriver was included for opening the Remote.
2. The suggestion to use lithium AA batteries in the Remote -- alkaline batteries simply stop working in very cold temperatures.
Relatively minor problems with the instructions:
1. The instructions say to press buttons, but the drawings do not show where they are actually located on the side of the receiver. The first photo shows where they are.
2. The instructions for 12 volt and NO/NC outputs are unclear because the drawing on page 20 does not match the label on the bottom of the receiver. The second photo shows the actual label, which makes the instructions much clearer. I have confirmed that NC connects to COM and that there is no connection between COM and 12V -.
