I use this to plug my Xbox One, Nintendo Wii-U, and home theater PC to one HDMI port on my Samsung TV. Each one of those devices powers the splitter on its own with full picture quality. I looked very closely and I can't see any additional picture nose and listening, I can't hear anything different in the audio either. If I turn on only one device at a time, I never have to touch the button on the unit to change sources. It auto-switches to the powered up source. If you turn on a second source while one was already on, then you would need to press the button on the unit to manually switch. Overall, I am extremely happy with this for the price.
