After reading many conflicting reviews on Amazon, and speaking with my Verizon store directly, there was a lot of mixed information, and I wanted to share my experience. Many reviews on Amazon stated they bought the Apple Watch through Amazon, and then could not set up cellular service, and stated you had to buy the Watch through Verizon directly. I went to my local Verizon store, and was told the same thing. I was very frustrated and found that to be highly unlikely, that only ONE carrier could not connect to Apple products. I spoke with Apple support and was assured you can purchase the Watch anywhere, and still connect to cellular service. I purchased my Apple Watch 4 through Amazon, and was able to immediately connect to my Verizon cell service, without even needing to go to the store. Some things to keep in mind: make sure you are purchasing the "Cellular" Apple Watch. This particular Watch has the red circle on the scroll wheel; make sure you download the "My Verizon" app prior to setting up your Watch (this made the process go much smoother)...you can set up the cellular service through Verizon while you are setting up the Watch initially. It currently costs $10/month additional on your service plan. You are then able to turn cellular service on and off as you like. I hope this review helps those of you who were just as confused as I was! The Apple Watch 4 is amazing, and I have been thrilled with the purchase.
