I was hesitant to purchase this pen on amazon because I had heard of people receiving fakes. But, for the price, I decided to give it a go. Once I received it I looked up a couple videos on how to tell the difference between a real and a fake, and gave it the all clear. I would recommend doing that if you purchase most things off of amazon. Anyways, getting to the pen. I had been torn between the Lamy Safari and the Pilot Metropolitan as my first fountain pen (like with most people) but ultimately I decided on this one for a couple reasons. One, the material of this is a much lighter weight plastic which to some people might give it a “cheap” feel, for me it just makes it more comfortable to write with. It’s very lightweight and balanced that it just feels good in the hand. The ergonomics of this pen cannot be understated. It follows the bauhaus form of construction, very Germanic (as is the company, Lamy). The construction quality of a Lamy Safari cannot be expressed enough. This is a wonderful product and if you are deciding to buy one, I highly recommend doing so!
