Doesn't bunch up, don't get anything else
I took time researching slings when our 13 year old Great Dane suffered a spinal stroke and lost the use of her rear legs. I'm glad I took my time and didn't order the ones that come up first in the search results. This is made of a very sturdy nylon outer material, think almost like seatbelt material. This is important because other slings are made from a thinner material that will bunch up, particularly when the dog squats to go to the bathroom. That in turn puts pressure on the dog's bladder making it difficult for them to empty their bladder... Ask me how I know.... This material almost doesn't bunch up at all and has so much Sherpa padding I'm sure that it is quite comfortable for the dog. As for how sturdy this material is, well I actually created a wheelchair for our Dane as she still hasn't recovered the use of her back legs. I used this as a sling and cut 4 holes in it where I threaded bolts through it to attach to the wheelchair. There is no ripping of any kind and that's under the weight of a 150 lb dog. I really couldn't be happier with this product. Don't waste your money on anything else. This is super sturdy, comfy and easy to use.
