Overall fantastic case - just pick your screen protector wisely
I moved to this case from an Otterbox Defender on my old S4, which I purchased wayyy back when Otterbox was the only real well-known name in phone cases. Boy is this a night and day difference. Extremely satisfied with this case, and not looking back. Pros: -Sleek. The old cases I had were always rubbery in texture and caught on my pockets. This one is quite a bit smoother, but not to the point where it feels slippery to the touch. -Solid feel. The case is dual layered (soft inner layer, hardened outer shell) and feels strong, but way thinner compared to other double layered cases like the Otterbox Defender. I don't feel like my phone doubles in size with this thing on. I can;t comment on the protective quality of the case since I haven't dropped my phone yet. but I feel like it should hold up as well if not better than most cases. -Tight fit. This was my BIG pet peeve with other cases. The latex/rubber/whatever would always come loose and begin to pull off on the corners of the phone. This process happened 10x faster if I ever had to remove the case for whatever reason. I've had to snap this case on and off about 4 times in the process of removing SIM/SD cards and it fits on like a glove each time. Cons: -No access to the microSD port without removing the case. Not a huge issue, but still worth mentioning. -No protective flaps/covers for the charging port/headphone jack. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting if you're used to a case that has those things, like Lifeproof or Otterbox. -Screen protectors. This is the only thing that I think SERIOUSLY needs mentioning, and even then, it's not necessarily the case's fault. The issue stems from the S7 itself, which has curved edges on its screen (not as pronounced as the S7 Edge, but still curved compared to the S6 and earlier). As for protecting the screen, they come in two varieties, the film and glass based ones. Their compatibility with this case will vary based on what you choose. For film, the curving isn't a huge issue. It fits snugly up to the edges of the screen, and the case snaps pretty snugly over it. For glass, there's two kinds - flat protectors that only cover the screen itself, and curved protectors that cover the entire front face of the phone. The flat protectors fit just fine with the case since it doesn't reach the edges, but the tradeoff is that since the screen curves, you get a ring or "halo" of glass that doesn't adhere to the edges. It's more of a cosmetic issue than a protective one, but dust and stuff can still get under that if you don't put it on carefully. The raised lip of the case does help to prevent that though. Curved glass reaches all the way across the front of the phone, BUT the added thickness is too much for the case to snap over. Putting the case back on my phone after applying the protector caused it to pop off. This happened with two separate curved glass protectors. The case is too snug a fit to support it. Essentially, if you're going to go with a screen protector with this case, pick a flat glass one (albeit with a halo effect), or a film one (which doesn't protect against screen impacts). Other than that bit of warning, I can't think of anything negative to say about the case. I'm extremely satisfied with it and will look to Spigen the next time I upgrade.
