Durable, lightweight and good features.
I chose this model over other types because it breaks down in sections, making it easier to pack and store. Also, this folding design avoids the turn to tighten methods used on telescoping poles. I find that sand and other grit eventually cause telescoping poles to fail... the tightening collars jam up. I only take one pole when I hike just for added balance over rocky terrain and crossing creeks so this pair should last many years. I chose an aluminum model over carbon for the added durability with a slight weight gain. After a 40 mile backpacking trip that included a couple of cross country days thru rocky terrain, the pole shows dings and scratches from use but the tungsten tip shows very little wear. The fake cork grip has a better feel than the regular eva foam or plastic handles, and the extended black grip allows for quick changing of hand position when necessary. Overall I am very happy with this set of poles and would recommend it. Also, I prefer the locking button on this model than the turn to lock position method found on my previous model of folding poles.
