View to a Grill
This is the second small grill that I have purchased, the first being the Cuisinart CGG-180T. The difference is substantial. The Cuisinart gave up the ghost after one season, in all fairness I was using it more frequently that it was probably intended for. The Smoke Hollow is a bit larger, but the single biggest advantage I have seen is the heat output. At 10,000 BTU, this grill is almost double the 5,500 BTU of the Cuisinart. What this means is a faster warm-up, and significantly shorter cooking times. Steaks are ready to serve in almost half the time, and chicken breasts are no longer the exercise in patience that they were previously. If you are doing burgers and dogs, the Cuisinart is ok, but once the cooking grate is full, expect things to slow way down. The Smoke Hollow also has a warming rack in addition to the main grill surface. One thing that was frustrating with the Cuisinart is that the cook surface was comprised of flat metal with slots, as opposed to a traditional wire grill. Cleaning burnt bbq sauce was pretty much impossible. Construction of the grill is nice, assembly is idiot-proof, the stainless looks wonderful, and the handle is large enough to make carrying comfortable. The $10.00 cost difference is money well spent. I'm heading out for a three day camping trip shortly after I finish this review, and am looking forward to firing this grill up tonight to make dinner! I can recommend this unit without hesitation, buy one, you won't regret it.
