Feral cat showed up last Jan. Tried to trap him, to no avail. Put straw under my front porch, an insulated carrier, and he instead hunkered down on my side porch (where I feed him) in the cold, the rain, and the snow. Broke my heart. Fast forward to this Nov. and I can lightly pet him, he answers to Fritz, and meows at me. A tameable, unneutered feral cat. Freezing temps again BUT this pad keeps him warm. A few gracious folks responded about adding a towel overtop the pad (yes) so I used a thin airline blanket over the pad with a rolled airline blanket around the edge. He loves it! Pad stays really warm as I check it out when he leaves. Plus, for a month his normal behavior has been to hunch uncomfortably (sans pad) on towels I have left for him. Last nite for first time he slept on his side, head turned up, obviously comfortable. I will tame and neuter him but this pad will give him a quality of life, if not a life, until I can do that. Am going to now order the heated house this company sells for use under my front porch. Great product, warm when activated by pets body. Will save a life! See photos.
