I can say the sound is awesome using Windows Sonic (a bit `blurred)'
So far.....after 96 hours... first, the sound. I can say the sound is awesome using Windows Sonic (a bit `blurred)'. But even better using the Dolby Atmos add on ($15 and about 20% better sound seperation). Since they are headphones, everything sounds `closer' than my 7.1 home theater system.. The side to side and front to back sound seperation is actually very very good. Playing Skyrim, my co-character was behind me and whispered to me and I actually looked over my right shoulder to see if someone was there LOL. Footsteps are clearly heard, as well as the sound of my bow being drawn, clearer than my home theater system (thus the `closer' sound). The bass is superb (can be too loud sometimes with no way to adjust thus the 4 stars), as are the highs. I bought this knowing I would upgrade to the Dolby Atmos (which perfectly mimics 7.1) rather than the Ultimate for $100 more with the native 7.1. There are seperate dial controls on the earcups for chat and game volumne, as well as mute touch controls for both and they work excellent. Now, second, the comfort... While the headset felt a bit heavy on my ears at first, compared to my wired KMDs (real junk POS as the KMD wires at the controller plug broke after 3 weeks under zero stress). But after 5 minutes they felt fine and I near forgot they were there. Third,,,connectivity and battery life. Connected to my XBox One S in 15 seconds. I like the fact I can turn on the headset and it automatically turns on my Xbox One S. The specs say reception up to 20 feet, but line of sight was 26 feet, and yes, I measured it. The battery life says 16 hours but it is more like 10-12....but it recharges overnight, and the charger wire is long enough to leave plugged in while gaming, so I am good with this. Fourth....the mike and MMO sound play... I love the retractable mike. Playing Destiny (1), no one complained about hiss or cutting out. I can retract the mike or adjust the chat volumne using the ear cup dials for greater control of mike sensitivity. To connect to your PC, you need the Xbox One usb adapter, which I don't care about as I have a HHD with all my music and movies plugged into my Xbox One S. So overall, I very highly rcommend this headset. $100 less than the Ultimate was a price point for me, and I feel with the Dolby Atmos add I get close to the same sound. And wireless over wired, if you have the extra coin to spend, there is NO comparison to being able to move around freely compared to the constraints of babying the freaking wires of a wired headset. FYI, I am a 65 year old hard core gamer (since Atari) and don't give a good review for the sake of a good review. Cheers all, and I hope you all have fun gaming!
