I purchased this unit in September of 2020. Over the years I've owned several vac sealers. This was not the least expensive or the most expensive unit I've owned but by far it has been the best one yet, exceeding all expectations. It's very well built, has a wide range of settings for various applications and I haven't had a single bag lose vacuum after sealing. Unfortunately after about 7 months of nearly daily use the heating element developed a problem. Hey things happen right? I called Nesco customer service and without hesitation they offered to send an immediate replacement. In my view the mark of a good review isn't necessarily deserved just when something works as should be expected. And a bad review isn't deserved just because a problem occurs. Let's be realistic. The days of products lasting a lifetime are pretty much gone. For me, it's the company that backs their product when things go wrong that counts. From the moment customer service answered the call, (which by the way was less than a minute) their posture was "no problem" we have you taken care of. Nesco and this unit gets a AAA+ on all fronts.
