Context: I'm currently an apartment renter, and I have great central air flowing in every room in the unit - except the bedroom. The bedroom in particular has only 1 ceiling vent, and for whatever reason it doesn't work well. And of course the bedroom gets full sun and bakes. The unit was incredibly easy to install. I measured the hole of the vent before ordering this to verify it was the right size. Despite the property repair folk apparently making the hole the wrong size and thereby the screws not placing correctly, this cover was installed in 5 minutes flat. First I plugged the cord in and made sure that it would be long enough - it's a nice long cable, btw. Then I grabbed a drill and the existing screws (some were provided, but why waste) and plugged the 2 screws in, plugged the cord in, and voila! Within an hour walking into the bedroom had no noticeable temperature difference from the other rooms. Completely shocked that this actually worked. There is some noise, but I have a white noise machine so doubt it'll be a concern. The LED screen is a little bright for night time, but nothing some electrical tape won't fix.
