Works Just Like a Landline
I used the original Magicjack for two years and the call quality could be sub-par at times. Often the PC needed to be rebooted so the quality was "acceptable." I was going to buy NetTalk Duo to replace my original MagicJack, but NetTalk doesn't port your phone number, so I waited for Magicjack Plus. The set-up of Magicjack Plus was relatively easy and took about 1/2 hour. After connecting the magicJack Plus, I immediately had a dialtone, but I was given a new phone number. I went online and chatted with a magicJack rep. who was extremely helpful and explained that I needed to log into my Magicjack account and click on a setting which I think was "use my current phone number" (or something like that). The Magicjack Plus works just like a landline and the call quality is mostly excellent, tho occasionally it sounds tinny, probably due to high traffic on the Web or high consumption of bandwidth. I was pleasantly surprised when the voicemail indicator on my phone system flashed when I have a new voicemail. I highly recommend trying it. You can always return it within 30 days for a refund.
