We absolutely love this clothesline. It looks nice when retracted and blends in well. The plastic shell it's sturdy enough, but underneath this unit is very sturdy steel. The clothesline isn't just a stainless steel cable, it's coated in a durable smooth plastic. Hanging it will require some tools and I suggest that you mount the unit and the hook plate into studs as this line is capable of holding some heavy loads of laundry and you don't want the clothesline to exceed the strength of the wall. TL;DR you can tell this is meant to withstand the abuse of hotel guests which makes it a great buy for those looking to add an unobtrusive clothesline indoors.
