I work at Spirit Halloween and have had excellent success with this pallet! I've used it for two seasons now and am only now looking for a replacement container of white. It is water based and water activated. To get the best results, water needs to be added a little at a time and the paint stirred until it's a workable consistency. If there are any negative reviews I would think it's because they didn't add water to get the right consistency. It's worth playing around with before the event its needed so you can get a feel for what works. This paint is not hard to use at all, but without the right consistency I can see why some wouldn't like it very much. I'm not a professional face painter, but I have fun with this pallet collection. I think the lay down is super easy with a foundation brush. I use super fine point paint brushes for the tiny details, and a variety of other brush sizes as needed. A steady hand helps! And obviously, Pinterest is an excellent source for inspiration. Have fun!!
